In 1894, the Rechtsquellenstiftung des Schweizerischen Juristenvereins decided to compile and edit the Sammlung Schweizerischer Rechtsquellen, law sources up to 1798 which had been created on Swiss territory. The Sammlung contains material from the early middle ages through the early modern era. Since its inception, this collection of Swiss law sources has developed into a modern, interdisciplinary editorial project. Over 100 volumes, or more than 60,000 pages of source material and comments in all four official languages of Switzerland have so far been published. The published volumes have now been digitized; the ultimate aim is to make the entire collection of Swiss law sources freely accessible on the web. The catalog is organzied by canton, but searches are also possible via the tables of contents.
