Description: Gedenkstätte Deutscher Widerstand was opened in 1980 to commemorate those members of the German Army who tried to assassinate Hitler in 1944. Now the center has expanded as a memorial to all elements of opposition and resistance to the Nazi Regime. With its goal to show how individual persons and groups took action against the National Socialist dictatorship from 1933 to 1945 and made use of what freedom of action they had, the center provides political studies, research projects as well as information about upcoming events and exhibitions on site. Its historical documentations and research publications are available mostly in German and free to the public.
