The National Museum, a Trust of the Government, is an educational, scientific and cultural institution that acquires, documents, preserves, exhibits, and fosters scholarly study and public appreciation of works of art, specimens, and cultural and historical artifacts representative of our unique to the cultural heritage of the Filipino people and the natural history of the Philippines. It is mandated to establish, manage and develop museums comprising the National Museum Complex and the National Planetarium in Manila, as well as regional museums in key locations around the country. Currently, the National Museum national network comprise nineteen regional, branch and site museums throughout the archipelago. The National Museum manages and develops the national reference collections in the areas of cultural heritage (fine arts, anthropology and archaeology) and natural history (botany, zoology,and geology and paleontology), and carries out permanent research programs in biodiversity, geological history, human origins, pre-historical and historical archaeology, maritime and underwater cultural heritage, ethnology, art history, and moveable and immoveable cultural properties. Appreciationof the collections and research findings of the Museum, as well as technical and museological skills and knowledge, are disseminated through exhibitions, publications, educational, training, outreach, technical assistance and other public programs. The National Museum also implements and serves as a regulatory and enforcement agency of the Government with respect to a series of cultural laws, and is responsible for various culturally significant properties, sites and reservations throughout the country. It is the lead agency in the official commemoration of Museums and Galleries Month, which is the month of October, every year.

The National Museum of Cambodia
The National Museum of Cambodia houses one of the world's greatest collections of Khmer cultural material including sculpture, ceramics and ethnographic objects from the prehistoric, pre-Angkorian, Angkorian and post-Angkorian periods.
The Museum promotes awareness, understanding and appreciation of Cambodia's heritage through the presentation, conservation, safekeeping, interpretation and acquisition of Cambodian cultural material. It aims to educate and inspire its visitors.
The Rama IX Art Museum
The Rama IX Art Museum Foundation was set up in 1996 with the objective of establishing a permanent museum dedicated to Thai contemporary and modern art and to be named "The Rama IX Art Museum" in honor of H.M. The King Bhumipol Adulyadej.
A major art exhibition was undertaken by the Foundation in 1997 - the "Golden Jubilee Art Exhibition" to honor H.M. The King's Golden Jubilee and to raise funds for the musuem project.
Due to the ensuing economic and financial crisis over the past two years, fund raising efforts and support for such endeavor has diminished dramatically. It is unlikely that the Foundation will obtain sufficient funding from governmental and private sources to achieve its' objective in the near future.
Therefore it has been decided in early 1999 that the Foundation, with the limited resources still remaining, would in the meantime build the Rama IX Art Museum in cyberspace and dedicate this Website of Thai Contemporary and Modern Art to H.M. The King in celebration of his 72th birthday this December 5, 1999.
The National Museum of Indonesia

The Penang State Museum and Art Gallery
The Penang State Art Gallery is a comprehensive collection devoted to modern and contemporary art. The non-circulating collection documents painting, sculpture, drawings, prints, photography, architecture, design, performance, video, film, and emerging art forms from year 1965 to the present. The Penang State Art Gallery presents artworks revolving around ideas of identity, urbanization, globalisation and the environment, these works raise pertinent issues on urban living in the modern cityscape and prompt us to consider how the artists have translated their visions about these issues into works of art.
The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology
Communities for a long time have played an important role in collecting work of the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. Moreover, they have involved in the preparation process of the Museum's exhibitions for the purpose of introducing about and preserving cultural heritage. This collaboration has made the Museum's activities lively and closer to people's lives. Communities have also effectively participated in performances of traditional handicrafts, folk arts, water puppetry, and folk games etc. Traditional architectures in the open-air exhibition were reconstructed by local artisans and through the years have been repaired by community members themselves. By working together with Museum staff, communities are more proud of their culture and raise the awareness of protecting cultural heritage. In short, the vibrancy and attractiveness of the Museum is due to the enormous contribution of communities. It is the highlights in the VME's activities in presenting cultural heritage values to visitors.
The Asian Civilizations Museum
The Asian Civilisations Museum is devoted to exploring the rich artistic heritage of Asia, especially the ancestral cultures of Singaporeans. Opened in 1997 and in its present building by the Singapore River since 2003, the museum traces its roots to the Raffles Museum, founded in the middle of the 19th century. ACM focuses on the many historical connections between the cultures of Asia, and between Asia and the world. Singapore’s history as a port city that brought people together from all over the world is used as a means of examining the history of Asia. Special exhibitions bring magnificent objects from around the world to our Singapore audience. Signature programmes like the annual ACM After Dark, Saturdays@ACM, and Lunchtime Concerts encourage visitors to connect more closely with culture and the arts.
